The District 3 island located within district two is not contiguous. This appears to be a violation of the KY Revises Statutes!
KRS 67.045 provides for the reapportionment of districts in counties with magisterial fiscal courts and those with county commissioners. Districts must be drawn so that they are compact and contiguous, and the population of districts must be as nearly equal as is reasonably possible.

By the way, go to http://www.jessamineco.com/court/map.htm and look at what the magistrate district map has become. Somebody has photo-shopped it to make it seem that there is an isthmus connecting the Wilmore island to the main continent of District 3. The definition of district borders (contained elsewhere on their web site, makes it clear, however, that the two portions of the district are connected by a .6 mile strip of zero width (actually, the center line of US 68). A friend has talked to both Tim Vaughan and Judge Cassity and both confirm that there hasn't been any redistricting even started. I guess they did it after he or I pointed out that the district was illegally drawn. Why can't people just play it straight? If you make an honest mistake, admit it and make it right as soon as possible. But then maybe it wasn't an honest mistake.

When did this update happen????? The update was added to the county website in or around Feb. 20th, 2011 and is exaggerated; it should be the centerline of the highway. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. In 2012 the good people of Nicholasville do not need to re-elect any Nicholasville City Commissioner!
You don't have to vote for four commissioners; just the ones you really want. The present commissioners all voted for property tax increases, utility increases, re-appointment's of two Planning & Zoning Commissioners to an allegedly already corrupt planning and zoning commission that was pointed out by two local attorneys, Elizabeth Darby and Hank Graddy during a public planning meeting on October 24, 2011.
